English: The Wind in The Willows, Chapter 4 Mr Toad
Monday: To identify key events from a text.

What are the key events that happen to Mr Toad? Make story map of the key events in the order that they happen.
Tuesday: To recognise the features of a of a play script.
Look through the Power Point about play scripts Writing a Play Script PowerPoint.
Read the example play scriptPlay script example page Pied Piper. There is a task at the bottom which you can ignore – although if you would like to try it please do!
What feature can you spot? Highlight them or list examples in your book.
Wednesday: To plan a play script.
You are going to plan your own play script based on Chapter 4, Mr Toad.
Choose your favourite event from the chapter to write as a scene for a play. Use the template to organise your ideas. Play Script Writing TemplateThere is a second page for extra ideas. Thursday: To write a play script.
Use your plan and the checklist Play-script-checklist to remind you what to include. Look at my example: Play Script example
Friday: To edit and improve your play script.
Check your play script against the checklist – have you include everything? Check your spellings and that you have used capital letters for all the names.
Read your play script aloud – perhaps you could ask somebody in your household to read one of the characters while you read another. Try to follow your stage directions! Do you need to add any more directions or dialogue to make your play more exciting?
